Saving Lives’ Third Humanitarian Mission to Cambodia in 2025

December 2025 – Siem Reap Food Aid and Bicycle Donations, and Emergency Relief for Families Displaced by Border Conflict
Saving Lives’ Third Humanitarian Mission to Cambodia in 2025

This marked Saving Lives’ third visit to Cambodia in 2025. Over the past few years, we have returned to Cambodia many times, remaining committed to supporting underprivileged communities and responding to their real and pressing needs. In December 2025, we once again travelled to Siem Reap to deliver aid and compassion to those who needed it most.

The first activity took place at Wat Kok Thlok, Kok Thlok Leu Commune, Chikreng District, Siem Reap Province. During this visit, 300 sets of essential living supplies were distributed, including rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, and soy sauce. In addition, 100 bicycles were donated to local children to help ease their daily commute to school. In many rural areas, children must walk long distances to attend school, and a bicycle can make a significant difference in their education and daily lives. The food supplies also provided much-needed support to families living in poverty.

Part of the donated supplies was made possible through a deeply meaningful contribution from the family of the late Hong Zhenyang, who passed away at the age of 19. The family chose to transform funeral condolence contributions into charitable donations, purchasing essential food supplies for families in need. Although his life was tragically short, his family’s act of compassion has allowed his memory to live on through kindness and service to others.

Just before the team’s return, we received urgent news of renewed conflict along the Cambodia–Thailand border, forcing many civilians to flee their homes. Some of the displaced refugees sought shelter at Prasat Kokchork Temple in Siem Reap Province. The resident monk, guided by compassion, opened the temple to provide refuge and relief to those affected.

In response to this sudden humanitarian crisis, Saving Lives immediately initiated an emergency relief effort, adding a second aid activity to the mission. We donated 100 bags of rice (50 kg per bag) and 500 cans of sardines (155 g per can) to the displaced families, aiming to ease their immediate living burdens during this difficult and uncertain time.

Each mission undertaken by Saving Lives is not merely a routine act of charity, but a sincere response to real human needs. Whether addressing long-term poverty or sudden humanitarian emergencies, we firmly believe that timely acts of kindness can offer hope and strength to those facing their most challenging moments.
